By using this website and/or renting property through My Galveston Getaway, Inc., you are agreeing to the following rules, regulations and policies.
Privacy: Your privacy and identity are very important to us and we are honored that you are trusting us to assist with your trip planning. Please know that with the exception of processing payments for rentals through a secure credit card processing vendor, we do not share your personal information with anyone. Period. End of discussion.
While we’ve tried to be clear about what IS included (and that is almost everything) in your rental price, there are two things that are NOT included.
Parking: Some of the properties we are privileged to manage require a parking permit and some charge a fee for that. The charges are per vehicle and valid for the duration of your stay, not a per-night charge, and generally $10.00 or so. You will be notified if you need to pay a parking permit fee and where to do so. Again – the parking charge is NOT included in your rental rate.
Pets: Some of our property owners allow for a small dog to join its human family members on vacation. (Some don’t so be careful when picking your perfect Galveston Getaway!) There is a $50.00, non-refundable pet deposit in those units to allow for the excess cleaning that is always needed when a canine joins its people. Please ensure you have rented a dog-friendly unit if you are planning to bring your pooch. Having a pet in a non-pet friendly unit or a cat in any of our units, will result in a charge of at least $250.00 for additional cleaning required. Many of our homeowners have allergies to animals, so your cooperation is greatly appreciated to ensure that these folks can comfortably come home to their home-away-from-home. The damage waiver does not cover having a pet in a non-pet friendly unit, and animals other than dogs are not permitted.
Security Deposits: For short term/vacation rentals, we don’t ask for one. That’s one more “add this and add that” which doesn’t make sense in our business model. The cost of the damage waiver, provided through our vendor partner, TravelGuard, is included in the pricing we offer. The Damage waiver covers incidental or accidental damages to the property you are renting, and its contents. It does NOT cover intentional damages, excess cleaning, or missing items. Your rental agreement and credit card authorization will give us the ability to charge for such items which are not incidental or accidental. For longer term rentals (month to month or longer) we do require a security deposit equal to one month of rental. It is the responsibility of the guest to notify My Galveston Getaway of any damages that occur during their stay with us to ensure that the appropriate claim is filed with our vendor in a timely manner.
Smoking: The damage waiver does not cover smoking in our properties. No smoking is permitted and smoking inside of a unit will result in a charge of at least $250.00 for additional cleaning required. Many of our homeowners are allergic to smoke. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated to ensure that all of our guests are able to enjoy the properties we manage and the owners can return to their home-away-from-home in comfort. Smoking is permitted outside of the units, so long as the entry doors are closed to ensure that smoke does not travel inside.
Rental Age: As promised to the property managers that we are blessed to work for, we rent to guests 25 years of age or older. The individual who signs the rental agreement and provides verification of their identity, must be 25 or older, and must be present at all times during the rental period of the agreement.
Photographs: All photographs and/or images on this website are the property of My Galveston Getaway and use of them without express written permission by the company is prohibited and will be prosecuted.
To help ensure that your visit to a property that we have the privilege of managing is pleasant, please take a few moments to read the following. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org or 713-817-6683 with any questions not covered within your rental agreement or on our website. These rules are considered a part of the rental agreement. Failure to abide by the property rules will result in termination of the rental agreement for non-compliance and no refund shall be due. Each property is privately owned and furnished.
Do not remove anything from the property. The cleaning staff is instructed to inventory each property at the end of the rental period and notify My Galveston Getaway of any missing or damaged items. Any damaged or missing items will be billed directly to the occupant including but not limited to linens, silverware, décor, furnishings, etc.) Please do not use towels, blankets or comforters from the rental property at the beach or pools. This can result in damages to the towels due to tar, chlorine, etc., which may not be covered by the damage waiver.
All units are non-smoking. Smoking is permitted only outdoors and with all doors closed. Smoking indoors, or with the doors open, will result in a charge of not less than $250.00 for additional necessary cleaning services.
My Galveston Getaway is not responsible for vehicles or their contents during your stay. Certain of our properties have a parking permit requirement. If you are staying in such a property you will be notified as well as being informed as to how to obtain the permit. A maximum number of vehicles is determined by space availability and property rules at each property.
Unless approved in advance and in writing by My Galveston Getaway, pets are not permitted in the property you will be occupying. Violators must remove any animal or leave immediately and no refunds will be given. Guests may also be charged and extermination feel, plus one night rental charge for loss of use due to down time required to have such extermination performed. All such charges will be applied to the credit card on file, and if no such card has been provided or if the charge is declined for any reason, renter agrees to immediately reimburse My Galveston Getaway for such expenses.
Patios and balconies are to be kept clean and neat at all times. Entryways are to be kept clear and unobstructed. No towels, bathing suits, clothing or other items may be draped from balcony railings or on balcony furniture.
Our owners maintain locked personal areas for their personal belongings. Attempts to enter these units, even if accidentally left unlocked, will result in the forfeiture of security deposit or a charge for any and all missing or damaged items in such areas and/or lock & key replacement charges including labor and materials.
Please be courteous and do not enter the property before cleaning your feet of sand and tar.
Electric barbecue apparatus ONLY are permitted in multi-family properties, and may only be used outside. If a charcoal grill is provided at a private residence it is the renter’s responsibility to provide charcoal, lighter fluid, etc., and to clean the grill prior to departure, as well as taking all safety precautions with regard to water nearby during cooking, disposal of coals, etc. If not cleaned there will be an additional charge of $50.00 to complete this service after your departure.
All registered guests are responsible for their own actions and those of their family members, guests, invitees or anyone on the property during the term of their tenancy.
No loud music, TV, instruments, loud voices shall exceed the perimeter of the unit you have rented. Noisy disorderly or offensive conduct, or conduct annoying or disturbing to other residents or neighbors will not be tolerated. No house parties. Underage drinking and use of illegal drugs or substances will not be tolerated. Any violations are subject to removal with no refunds being offered. Fireworks are not permitted in Galveston including holidays such as New Years and Fourth of July. Use of such at any of My Galveston Getaway managed properties will result in immediate removal from the property with no refunds provided.
LOCK OUT FEES: Sufficient keys are provided for use during your stay. In the event that a guest locks themselves out of a unit, during normal business hours there is a charge of $25.00 for a staff member to allow you entry to the property. After normal business hours the charge is $50.00. Access will be granted ONLY to the individual(s) named on the rental agreement. Normal business hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and excludes holidays recognized by the State of Texas. Lockout fees are payable in cash only.
It is the renter’s responsibility to check the property rented immediately upon arrival. Report any discrepancy or problem with ventilation, television, appliances, furniture, etc., immediately. Refunds or discounts will not be issued due to maintenance related problems. We will make every reasonable effort to correct the problem as soon as practical. If problems are reported, a maintenance person will be assigned. If it is determined that no problem exists, the renter will be responsible for the charges associated with the service call.
Occupancy limits are strict. Occupancy by more than the number of allowed guests at the property, or by anyone not identified in the rental agreement, will result in the immediate eviction of the entire party with no refunds.
Sufficient linens for each bed, kitchen towels, and one bath, hand and wash towel per person that a unit has bedding to accommodate, are provided. Additional pillows, linens and towels are not included in the cost of the rental. Should you wish to have linen service during your stay, this can be arranged at a cost of $35.00 per person that the unit occupies. Beach towels are not provided for pool/beach use. Bath towels, blankets, comforters or other linens from the property are not to be used at the pool or beach. Removal from the unit for use at the pool or beach will result in a charge for replacement.
Heating and air conditioning units should not be run while doors and/or windows are open. Units are not to be set below 70 degrees in warm weather or 78 in cool/cold weather to avoid damages to the HVAC systems of the property.
All of our properties are non-smoking indoors.
Each property has a maximum occupancy limit. Exceeding that limit could result in your being removed from the property without refund.
Dishes should be clean and put away, floors broom swept, food removed from refrigerator, trash removed, etc. prior to your departure.
Many of our properties are located in areas which have governing homeowners’ Associations. Renters and their guests are required to abide by the rules and regulations of such Associations during their stay. Failure to do so may result in eviction by MGG, the Owners Association of the property or neighborhood, or local authorities. No refund will be paid to the renter as a result of such an eviction.
All damages, regardless of malice or negligence, to the property or its contents during the renter’s tenancy are the financial responsibility of the renter.
Any damages are the responsibility of the renter. Should damages exceed the amount of the damage deposit waiver purchased, or should the damages be determined to be the result of intentional or willful conduct by any occupant during your rental period, renter remains financially responsible and MGG reserves the right to pursue collection. It is the responsibility of the renter to notify MGG of any damages to the property or its contents prior to departure.
Renter shall deliver possession of residence in good order and repair to Management upon Termination or expiration of this agreement.
Renter may not sublet residence, any portion of residence, nor assign this rental agreement without prior written consent of MGG. My Galveston Getaway must approve, in advance and in writing, of the presence of any pets on the property. This rental allows for one (1) dogs No animal or breed identified as dangerous, violent or vicious may be present on any MGG managed property at any time.
Renter releases My Galveston Getaway and property owner from liability for and agrees to indemnify My Galveston Getaway against losses incurred by MGG as a result of (a) renter’s failure to fulfill any condition of this agreement; (b) any damage or injury happening in or about rental or premises to renter, renter’s invitees or licensees or such person’s property; (c) renter’s failure to comply with any requirements imposed by any governmental authority; and (d) any judgment, lien or other encumbrance filed against renter as a result of renter’s actions or those of any of renter’s invitees or licensees during the term of this rental agreement.
Cancellation and refunds: Unforeseen emergencies do occur. We will do our best to work with you. All cancellations must be in writing and mailed to My Galveston Getaway, 6341 Stewart Road #104, Galveston, TX 77551. If cancellation is received more than 30 days from scheduled arrival date, you will receive a refund less a $75.00 cancellation fee. Any prepaid cleaning fees, taxes, etc. will be refunded. If cancellation is received thirty (30) days or less from scheduled arrival date, we will refund only if the property is re-rented for the same time frame at the same rate, and the refund will be subject to a $75.00 charge. If circumstances require, My Galveston Getaway reserves the right to substitute comparable accommodations.
Storm Policy: We do not offer a refund for tropical storms or voluntary evacuations. Refunds will be issued if a mandatory evacuation order is issued by Galveston County officials for the time period affected by the dates of evacuation.
Sight Unseen Rental: Pictures of the unit are available at www.mygalvestongetaway.com. MGG is not responsible for providing refunds or alternate accommodations if the unit you have rented does not meet your expectations. There will be no refunds or prorated rental amounts due to appliance or mechanical failures. Report all problems immediately and MGG will arrange for a service provider to perform needed repairs. Major malfunctions will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Inside the unit you will find two keys to the unit and instructions for pool access. Additionally, there is one key to the unit in the lock box to which you will be given a code for your use upon receipt of final payment. There is a charge of $25.00 to replace any key. Failure to return the lock-box cover or damage to the lockbox will result in a charge of $75.00 for replacement and installation.
From time to time property or subdivision/complex amenities may not be available as advertised due to maintenance, cleaning, construction, etc. Such instances will not result in any refund of fees paid.
If property becomes uninhabitable by reason of fire, explosion, or other casualty, MGG may, at its sole option, terminate rental agreement, repair damages, offer alternate accommodations or provide a pro-rated refund for unused dates in the agreement.
MGG shall have the right of access to rental for repair and maintenance during reasonable hours. In the event of an emergency, MGG may enter at any time to protect life and prevent damage to property. Property shall be used so as to comply with state, county and municipal laws and ordinances. Renter shall not use rental or permit it to be used for any disorderly or unlawful purpose or in any manner so as to interfere with other resident’s or neighbor’s quiet enjoyment of their residence. Any misuse described above shall result in termination of Rental Agreement and no refund of any payments will be issued. Quiet hours are between 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m.
Neither My Galveston Getaway, Inc., nor property owner, shall be liable for damage to renter’s property of any type for any reason or cause whatsoever, nor for injury to renter or any member of renter’s family, group, guest or invitee during the renter’s tenancy.
Until the agreement and initial payment are received, dates are not confirmed. If balance is not received as stated herein, MGG reserves the right to cancel the reservation and attempt to re-rent. Reminder notices are not sent, it is the renter’s responsibility to make payments as agreed upon herein.
Directions to the property and access information will be provided upon receipt of full payment and prior to check-in.
These guidelines have been established and set in place to help ensure that everyone’s visit is a pleasurable and memorable one, and will be strictly enforced.
By utilizing the website of My Galveston Getaway and/or renting a property through My Galveston Getaway, renter acknowledges having reviewed same, agrees to abide by them, and to accept responsibility for his or her actions and those of all who occupy the premises during the rental period.
