Just the thought of a mermaid conjures up pure relaxation and that is exactly what you will experience from the moment you arrive at Mermaid's Retreat where everything is inviting and new and waiting for you to arrive!

From the second you step inside you are greeted with the colors of water and sky, and a view from the door across the living room straight to the Gulf of Mexico.

"Spacious" does not do justice to the expanse of the condo - 2 bedrooms and 2 baths - with over 1100 square feet to spread out and enjoy.

Just as the mermaid is a beautiful creature – Mermaids Retreat has been created beautifully for your vacationing pleasure in Galveston – with each detail considered and your comfort in mind. Just about everything is brand new in 2017 – from the décor to the owners to the customer service you will receive, to the spirit of the playful mermaid that resides within the walls of this condo.

The complex itself has a fitness room, two pools, is beach-front and gated. This particular condo stands out and will quickly become your favorite to visit and talk about. Second floor – offering awesome views – an end unit providing additional natural lighting. The complex is comprised of many buildings of condos – some border the pools and grounds of the complex, this one, while an easy walk to the pools, is truly beach front allowing you to wave watch the balcony, living room and master bedroom.

For your comfort, each of the two bedrooms has a king size bed, large dresser & night stand, 39” flat panel television, quiet 3-speed ceiling fan, and walk in closet. The master features an en-suite bath with tile and glass walk-in shower, luggage rack and hair dryer.

The master bedroom is gulf front allowing you to see the water.

The second bedroom holds the iron & ironing board in the closet and has a second luggage rack.

You will love to gather in the living room of this condo – which is all newly furnished and decorated in a soothing palette that brings to mind colors and movement of the water. The reclining chair is like sitting on a marshmallow – no, a cloud! The sofa is just as comfortable and at night converts to additional sleeping space on an upgraded gel mattress. There is a 42” flat panel television for your group to catch the weather and plan tomorrow’s activities. The quiet 3 speed ceiling fan provides silent comfort – and the sliding door balcony access allows you to watch from inside or out. The balcony offers whicker seating and great views of Babe’s Beach, added through beach expansion in 2016.

The kitchen is perfect for the family chef with stainless appliances including a double door refrigerator with ice maker, microwave, electric cook top range, and dishwasher , plenty of granite counter space for preparation, and countertops appliances including blender, toaster, coffee maker. There are plenty of quality dishes, glassware, flatware and cookware. If total relaxation is the plan, our guest information book will provide you with a list of just some of the local eateries that are the favorites of the lovely family who owns this condo.

The dining room has a table perfect for 6 to gather and enjoy a meal, a board or card game, or great conversation.

The second bath, located near the second bedroom and dining room with common area access, features a tub/shower combination, granite counters and a hair dryer.

You can pack lightly for your vacation, if you wish, as the condo has a full-sized washer & dryer in the unit should you wish to do laundry while you are here. (Because skin can be so sensitive and become accustomed to the laundry products we all use at home, we do not provide these at the condo.)

Technology: Basicc XFinity cable on all televisions, WiFi included at no cost to our guests, and Roku for streaming and Netflix on televisions in both bedrooms and the living room!

Your first stay at Mermaids Retreat will not be your last – you may be calling for your next reservation before you leave!

The Dawn Condominium Complex charge $40.00 per vehicle for stays of 1-3 nights and $50.00 per vehicle for stays of 4 nights or longer as a parking/resort/amenity fees. This is not a charge from My Galveston Getaway and is paid directly to the complex upon your arrival. They will issue a parking permit and may issue wristbands that identify guests who are authorized at the complex. They will also provide guests with the codes for the gates to enter the property - both drive-through and walk through.

What's included: Bed linens for all beds, bath, hand and wash cloth for each guest that the unit welcomes. We do not provide beach/pool towels and we do ask that ours not be removed from the condo and taken to the beach or pool. They can get damaged or lost.

Starter supplies: 2 rolls of 2-ply, quilted toilet paper, a roll of paper towels, a dishwasher tablet, small dishwashing liquid, sponge, 2 small soaps, 2 small shampoos, trash bag, and coffee including sweeteners, stir sticks, powdered creamer to make that first pot. These are not intended to last your entire group through your entire stay - but to get in, get situated and figure out where you will shop for what on the island.

After making your reservation you will receive a link to complete our renters agreement. The only information we request differently than the booking platforms (VRBO/AirBnB) is your personal email address, the names and ages of each person who will be in the property during your stay, and your driver’s license information as well as an emergency contact should we need to reach someone on your behalf. Thank you for completing this in a timely manner so that we may send you the check-in instructions for the property you have reserved.

Rates & Availability

Cancellation Policy: One hundred percent (100.00%) of the total booking charges (less $100.00 taxable cancellation fee) will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 30 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. Fifty percent (50.00%) of the total booking charges (less $100.00 taxable cancellation fee) will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 14 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 14 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued.
